“I've been able to restart daily exercise routines.” Ian's Flex Story

This is Ian.

Staying active has always been part of who he is.

Gardening. Sport. Long-distance walking. The sort of activities that keep you moving, keep you outdoors and in Ian's case, bring a lot of enjoyment to everyday life.

Over time though, joint stiffness and pain started to creep in.

Especially during cold, damp weather. What began as an occasional frustration gradually started affecting more than just exercise.

Here's Ian's experience, in his own words.

When Everyday Things Became Harder

"I had been increasingly getting joint stiffness and pain, particularly in cold wet weather."

At first, Ian tried to work around it.

But the stiffness wasn't just affecting hobbies anymore.

"It was impacting my ability to pursue my active lifestyle and hobbies such as gardening, sport and long-distance walking."

Even everyday jobs started becoming more difficult.

"It was also restricting my ability to carry out day-to-day jobs, and I felt it was increasing my risk of accidents due to my knees or ankles giving way, or losing grip of heavy objects."

Looking back, Ian says it wasn't simply about aching joints.

"It was significantly impacting my ability to do the things I enjoy and my overall quality of life."

Looking for Something That Made Sense

Like many people, Ian started researching.

"I had been doing research online for some time about potential remedies for joint pain and mobility issues."

He read reviews, compared products and tried to separate genuine experiences from marketing.

Ironically, the recommendation that finally persuaded him wasn't from a health professional or a magazine review.

"It was a review by somebody on Mumsnet that ultimately triggered me to give Performance Lab a go."

Gradual Improvements That Added Up

Ian says he first noticed a difference after around two weeks.

"I particularly noticed it when I took two extra tablets after strenuous exercise."

Before taking Flex, hard exercise usually came with a price.

"I would typically be really stiff, with pain in my hands, shoulders, knees and ankles after exercise, but even worse the next day."

After a couple of weeks, that pattern had already started to change.

"These symptoms were significantly reduced after two weeks and almost completely gone after a month."

More than a year later, Ian says his routine has become even simpler.

"I no longer need the two extra tablets after exercise. Two a day seems to be the optimal amount."

Getting Back to the Things He Enjoys

For Ian, the biggest difference isn't one particular joint feeling better or being able to take part in one specific activity.

It's the freedom to stay active without constantly wondering how he'll feel afterwards.

"I can do strenuous exercise for longer periods without pain."

"My mobility is greatly enhanced and I've been able to restart daily exercise routines."

The benefits have extended beyond movement too.

"Being pain free has definitely improved my sleep and overall wellbeing and has been transformational to my quality of life."

For Ian, a big change is that he no longer has to second-guess what his body will let him do.

"No longer do I have to worry about doing something challenging, compared to before when it was always in the back of my mind that I couldn't do it."

Looking Back

Ian describes the overall impact in beautifully simple terms:

"You can't help but feel more confident and happy, and just get on with your life."

Sometimes it's easy to focus on individual symptoms or improvements. For Ian, the bigger picture matters more.

He’s able to head out for a long walk, spend time in the garden and he can exercise when he wants to, without worrying he'll pay for it later.

Those are the changes that have kept Performance Lab® Flex part of his routine.

Lab Notes: How Flex Works

One of the first things Ian noticed was that his joints felt stiffer during cold, damp weather.

This is a common problem.

Research is still exploring exactly why this happens, but one leading theory involves changes in barometric pressure.

As atmospheric pressure drops, the tissues surrounding joints may expand slightly, increasing pressure within the joint. Cooler temperatures can also reduce circulation and make muscles and connective tissue feel tighter.

This is thought to be the reason behind that increased stiffness we feel, particularly first thing in the morning or after periods of inactivity.

Ian also describes something many of us recognize: it's not just about aching joints.

It's the knock-on effect that discomfort has on everyday life.

When movement becomes less comfortable, it's natural to avoid certain activities, become more cautious, or recover more slowly after exercise. Over time, that uncertainty can make people less likely to stay active. Even though regular movement is one of the most important ways to support healthy joints.

This is why Performance Lab® Flex doesn't focus on a single ingredient or one aspect of joint health.

Instead, each ingredient has been selected to support a different aspect of joint structure, comfort and mobility.

  • CurcuWIN® Curcumin and AprèsFlex® Boswellia serrata were chosen to help support a healthy inflammatory response and comfortable movement after everyday activity or exercise.
  • Glucosamine Sulfate 2KCl provides a building block used naturally within cartilage, while Phytodroitin™ Chondroitin helps support the structure and resilience of cartilage and connective tissue.
  • OptiMSM® provides a bioavailable source of sulphur, an important mineral involved in the formation and maintenance of connective tissues such as ligaments and tendons.

Together, the formulation is designed to support the structures that allow joints to move comfortably, whether that's walking the dog, working in the garden, or recovering after a strenuous workout.
